Tri-Valley Guide Dog Puppy Raisers
Tri-Valley Guide Dog Puppy Raising Club is made up of volunteer guide dog puppy raisers in the East Bay of Northern California. We are the raisers of guide dog puppies bred by Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California. We are part of the mission to give people with severe visual disabilities an independant lifestyle and safe mobility.
Our club operates in the Pleasanton area and meets weekly on Tuesday nights at 7pm to socialize our puppies and work on training and obedience exercises.
We are always looking for volunteers interested in becoming puppy raisers and puppy sitters. Join us for one of our meetings or outings in the East Bay to find out more about what we do - and also meet our growing puppies.
Click here to read our Club Overview that will tell you a lot about the club, it's history, mission, requirements for participation and other important details.
Every August, our group hosts our main fundraising event, The Pooch Parade , held in conjunction with the Pleasanton Downtown Association's First Wednesday Street Party. This is a great time for dog lovers from the Tri-Valley area and beyond to dress up their favorite pooch (and the pooch's master!) and join us in a parade through historic downtown Pleasanton. This has become quite a spectacular event, growing better each year.
We hope you enjoy our website and all the information about Guide Dogs and the Tri-Valley Guide Dog Puppy Raisers. Perhaps some day you will join us and raise a Guide Dog Puppy of your own!
